Life’s Roller Coaster

Hi!

We all know that life is not always rainbows and unicorns. Even if we try to be positive and even if we know the storm will pass, we still experience heartbreak, sorrow, & pain. This is life. And it’s inevitable. Life is a roller coaster and even if we learn to enjoy the ride, we will experience those lows just like we experience the highs.

So let’s address the inevitable: the heartbreak, the disappointment, the sorrow, the pain. And let’s just straight up say it…IT’S HORRIBLE!!!! We can all agree on that, right!? I mean to experience deep pain or to feel a great loss or disappointment, is insurmountable pain. You feel like you’ve hit rock bottom. You feel like nothing can get worse than this. You feel like you’ve lost yourself.

I get it. It absolutely sucks. I have been there MULTIPLE times…taking a chance on numerous start-up businesses and failing or experiencing the loss of my grandparents, all of whom I was extremely close with. These types of heartbreak and loss, cuts you down to your very core. These life experiences lead you to question who you are, where you’re going, and how you’re going to get out of this dark hole.

So this is the cool thing about hitting rock bottom…when you’re in that low spot in life, the only direction you can go is UP.

So this is the cool thing about hitting rock bottom…when you’re in that low spot in life, the only direction you can go is UP. When you are at your absolute worst, ready to throw in the towel, ready to give up on life…that is where your life can change directions. Because in those moments of low, I believe, this is where we learn our greatest life lessons. This is where we learn to rise up, overcome challenges, and become stronger individuals. These dark moments can be life defining moments. Often times the pain, the anger, the heartache, can fuel us to become better, stronger individuals and can actually push us to do bigger and better things— things that you would not even think to dream of or would even believe to be possible.

Often times the pain, the anger, the heartache, can fuel us to become better, stronger individuals and can actually push us to do bigger and better things…

These dark places define us and push us to greatness. And that’s exactly what happened to some of the Greats. Check out Jesus, Rosa Parks, Jawaharlal Nehru, Nelson Mandela, Mother Teresa, and Martin Luther King, Jr. All of these Greats experienced those low points in their lives, pushing them towards their greatness. Their pain, anger, injustice, and loss propelled them to be some of the great historical figures of all time.

Allow your pain, your anger, your loss to propel you forward. Use the heartache to push you to where you want to be or who you want to become. It is totally ok to feel sad and to experience the heartache. Allow yourself to feel and process these emotions, because those very emotions will push you forward.

Therefore, the next time you find yourself in that low point, on this roller coaster called life, remember, you’ll be coming right back up.

Also, I am here for you. If you ever need anything — email, message, or leave a comment below. We’re on this roller coaster of life together 💜

Love,

Viola Roc
