You are Never Alone

Dear Friend, 

When we have anxious thoughts, worries, or fears, we tend to think that we’re the only person having those thoughts or the only person that has ever had those thoughts. Let me tell you…that is false. You are not alone with those thoughts. There are people that feel and think the same way that you’re feeling and thinking. You may even be surprised that you know people that are having the same thoughts. 

For example, say we have an anxious thought at school or a party, we automatically think that we’re the only person in the whole room having that thought; that no one else could potentially be feeling anxious, because just look at them…they look like they’re totally fine. But the truth is my friend, you never really know what and how other people are thinking, and that is why I can confidently say that you are not alone with those anxious thoughts. There will be other people in the same room with the same exact anxious thoughts. You are never alone.

So when those anxious thoughts, worries, or fears come creeping into your beautiful mind…because let’s be real, they will on some days…recognize and acknowledge those thoughts and then instantly remind yourself that you’re not alone. I think that the feeling of being alone can be even scarier than the thoughts you’re actually having, so please comfort yourself in knowing that you’re not the only person feeling that way.

And it’s also important to say, that it’s helpful to talk about whatever is bothering you with others — especially other people that are going through those same anxious thoughts, worries, and fears. And if I can ever help in any way, please let me know. You are most definitely not alone.
