Love for Onself, Love for Others

Your Opinion Matters, But Please Be Kind

It’s been a long time since I’ve written, and I’m so sorry about that!!! Life has a way of sneaking on by and getting filled up with activities and before you know it, time just flies! Nonetheless during this time, there have been a multitude of current events happening in our world…from political disputes, pandemic disputes, international disputes, and even disputes amongst families around these disputes mentioned. It’s almost as if our world has become hyper-opinionated about everything, and every topic turns into a battleground for an argument. It truly is unbelievable; yes sure, our country has always had its ups and downs throughout history, but it seems like more than ever, every person has experienced a fallout or argument with someone around these current events in a blown out, over-the-top way, and to be honest, I’m not here for it. When one experiences such great hate or anger around a certain topic, that person is left feeling horrible. And let’s face it, those type of arguments that I speak of are NOT going to solve the problem in the first place…so why even argue?

To be clear, it is extremely important to have an opinion about things. It’s also important to have opinions surrounding such topics mentioned above. In fact, it’s extremely meaningful to be well-rounded individuals, to continue to learn & educate oneself, and to therefore form opinions. Having an opinion is very critical and encouraged in order to have a strong, guiding belief system in all facets of life. However, the opinion becomes a problem when it’s used to harm or to suppress others…and what I mean by “harm or suppress” is basically making anyone feel bad because of your opinion.

Get out there and keep on thinking & dreaming and forming those beautiful opinions, but use those opinions in a kind way or not at all.

Again to be clear, having an opinion is a good thing!! (I can’t say that enough, have you noticed?) In fact, to be able to freely have opinions about topics is a great gift, so let’s use it wisely, right?! The moment our opinions place hurt towards someone or something, it becomes problematic. So get out there and keep on thinking & dreaming and forming those beautiful opinions, but use those opinions in a kind way or not at all. Our opinions should be used to uplift and inspire others. Again, your opinion matters, but please be kind.

Love,

Viola Roc

PS – Always remember: you are strong, you are beautiful, & you are smart.

Your opinion matters, but please be kind .
